Once again, I've relied on a friend to come up with a sewing project. This tote was inspired by a bag my friend saw in a Ballard Designs catalog. When I saw it, it triggered A LOT of ideas! One thing I knew immediately...I'd make it out of some leftover drop cloth fabric! While their bag is monogrammed, I played around with my new favorite embroidery design. I plan on monogramming some for birthday gifts.
I put a row of pockets on one side and a zippered pocket on the other side.
The gusset is 4" wide. I may make some that are a little wider and add a cell phone pocket that will fit my HUGE Droid Samsung Charge. Really...it's enormous.
I used By Annie's Soft and Stable in the gusset. I love that interfacing!
Want to make one? I'm working on the pattern and hope to have it posted in my Craftsy Store next week! In the meantime, check out the buckles at Crafter's Vision or head over to eBay...wow...lots of great buckles there.
UPDATE: Read my article about the pattern with a link to my pattern store!
