I try to streamline sewing whenever I can. As a result, I've created some techniques that help make sewing easier. I've begun to turn these techniques into video tutorials. Click on the images to go to my YouTube channel.
This is one of my favorite techniques. I created this because I hated adding
bias tape to the inside of bags whenever I added a zippered gusset. It's a bit counter-intuitive, but once you make it you'll be hooked.
Keep in mind that each pattern uses a slightly different version of this general technique (some add loops, some add purse hardware), so PAY ATTENTION to the pattern!
Patterns that use this technique:
I use binding tape A LOT. Here it is on my popular Pocket Pouch Purse Insert.
I make my tape a little differently - one side is narrower than the other. I sew the narrow side to the back and flip the wider side around to the front. It just seems to work better for me!
