Zipper With Binding
I recently finished up this toiletries bag. I quilted it, which means that I had some raw edges...so I had to figure out how to manage the zipper.
I decided to make some 1/2" Double Fold Binding (I didn't cut it on the bias) and wrapped it around the raw edge of the quilted fabric.
Once I did that, I simply placed the bound edge along the zipper (both right sides up), and, using my walking foot with the needle moved over, sewed it to the zipper.
In the picture above, you can see the two rows of stitches - one that attached the binding to the fabric and the other that attached the zipper to the fabric.

I really like how this looks; it adds a nice pop of color and contrast to the zipper area!
