Today's Project: The Luggage Tag

When I travel, I wrap my luggage handle in bright pink fabric so I can easily find it in a sea of suitcases. It's also well-marked as mine - but I try to keep my identity concealed. So when one of my friends showed me a luggage tag that she made, I loved it. The only problem was that she didn't know where she got the pattern. Not very helpful. But I went home and started sketching and planning and came up with this. I used the same technique (for turning it right side out) as I did in the business card holder and the composition book cover.

It closes via a loop slid through a buttonhole.

Just slip the business card in the clear vinyl pocket and close it!

The fold keeps the business card/id tucked in place. The design keeps the owner's identity a secret!

I am in the process of getting the free pattern written up and posted. But you'll have to wait! I'll be taking a break from my blog so I can teach my friend and her niece to quilt! They are really excited to get to work. And while they sew, I'll be working on my own quilt made from this flip-flop fabric. I'd rather sew on flip-flop fabric than wear flip-flops. Don't like anything between my toes!

  2. Hi Bia, thought I'd come back and check to see how things are going and whammo, the tutorial is up.....I found it a bit late to make some for Christmas presents, but these will be great to pop in Birthday cards next year as a small gift for anyone I know that's going overseas.

Hugs and thanks for sharing the tutes that you do, they're great to read.
