Today's Project: The Mother Load Duffle

This huge duffle bag can carry the Mother Load! I got the pattern from Studio Cherie and have taught this class twice. The ladies love it! I'd classify this as an intermediate level project.

I don't follow the pattern exactly - we've added pockets and sewed our straps differently, but in the end they look awesome!

Here's one I made for a Christmas gift. The straps are typically made from jute webbing (in the upholstery section), but I made these from fabric, then sewed pink cotton webbing on for added strength.

Here we are adding the strap!

Here's one end pocket.

Overall, this is a great duffle bag and fun to make!

If you need some help figuring out how to put the zipper in the top of the bag, review my tutorial on putting zippers in pillows and cushions - it's the same technique!
